FedEx driver Tanner Horner’s disturbing request to cops after killing 7-year-old Athena Strand

Killer FedEx driver Tanner Horner made a horrifying request to spend a month with his son during Christmas after strangling 7-year-old Athena Strand, police interview footage reveals.

FedEx driver Tanner Horner kidnapped Athena Strand from her home in Lake Worth on November 30, 2022, while delivering a package of Barbie dolls intended as a Christmas present.

Authorities say he later strangled the 7-year-old inside his delivery truck before dumping her body in a nearby wooded area.

In the early stages of the investigation, Horner allegedly tried to mislead police, claiming he had accidentally hit the girl with his vehicle and killed her in a panic.

Tanner Horner pleaded guilty to murder earlier this week, bringing the case into its final phase. A jury will now determine his punishment, with the possibility of either the death penalty or life in prison without the chance of parole.

Now, new details about the early stages of the investigation have come to light. As per a video shown to a jury on Thursday, per the NY Post, the 34-year-old driver was seen trying to make a shocking bargain with Texas cops in exchange for handing over information about the murder.

“I imagine that you have, basically, a list and bullet points that you want to know from me,” Gorner told investigators in the footage, shot in an interrogation room in November 2022.

He continued, “There’s only one thing in this world that I want. I want a month. “Even if y’all have to put an ankle monitor on me, GPS monitor, check-ups with you. If you give me a month with my family, so I can have Christmas with my son, I’ll tell you everything.”

However, the police officers said it wasn’t possible as he was arrested for murering a child. Tanner Horner quickly replied, “Either way, that’s basically my price.”

His entitled request was ultimately not granted.
