Sorority girl Lily Stewart went viral for her “smiling” mugshot, drawing widespread attention as “Locked up Miss America.” This is what she looks like today.
An Alpha Chi Omega sorority member at the University of Georgia went viral as a “mugshot beauty” after being arrested for speeding in March 2025. In the photo Lily Stewart is seen smiling at the camera, quickly attracting attention online.
According to Fox News, she was arrested after being pulled over twice within minutes for speeding “in excess of maximum limits.” A police report stated she was driving 79 mph in a 55 mph zone, and when she was pulled over a second time, she was going 84 mph in the same zone.

“Given the excessive speeding and recent citation, I initiated another traffic stop. Upon stopping the vehicle, I instructed Ms. Stewart to exit and placed her under arrest, explaining the reason for the arrest,” an officer said in the report, according to Fox News.
“The arrest of Ms. Stewart was necessary to mitigate the immediate danger posed by her reckless driving. Removing her from the roadway served to prevent further violations and potential accidents, ensuring the safety of other motorists.”
What happened after the arrest
After her mugshot went viral, many people commented on her looks, with some even offering to bail her out because of her beauty.
“The only crime here is stealing my heart,” one person reportedly commented.
“I don’t know what she did but free her,” another comment read, while a third wrote: “They done locked up Miss America.”
In the aftermath, Stewart spoke to PEOPLE, saying, “There are some beautiful mug shots. I don’t think mine’s particularly stunning,” and adding, “I actually think it’s a bad photo of me. If you see me in person, I don’t really look the same as I do in that mug shot. I don’t think it’s a great photo of me.”
However, her legal troubles didn’t end there. Only a few weeks later, she was arrested again and charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer and loitering/prowling, according to PEOPLE.
Following her first arrest, she was required to write a paper on the dangers of speeding. She told PEOPLE: “I’m going to say that speeding kills,” she said, but added: “If you do get caught speeding, maybe get arrested for it.
“Maybe you’ll go viral and get some Instagram followers.”
