Donald Trump’s close aide Margo Martin is reportedly being considered as a possible replacement for White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Communications experts believe Margo Martin could step into Karoline Leavitt’s role during her maternity leave.
Martin currently works as Special Assistant to the President and White House Communications Advisor. She has worked alongside Donald Trump for years and was previously part of his communications team after he left the White House in 2021.
Trump has praised Martin publicly before, once calling her ‘the most beautiful photographer in the world.’ Some people have recently even mistaken Martin for Melania Trump after she appeared beside the president during several public events.
Experts think Martin could step in
While the White House has so far not confirmed who will handle Leavitt’s duties during her leave, communications expert Andy Barr claimed Martin is in “pole position” to become interim press secretary when speaking to the Mirror US.

“The next logical step for Martin would be to temporarily take Leavitt’s high-pressure, high-profile role,” Barr said.
According to him, Martin’s growing visibility around Trump has made her one of the administration’s rising figures.
Another PR expert, David Johnson, agreed that Martin could potentially take over the role temporarily, though he doesn’t believe she is interested in running for political office herself.
“She has been more of a communications person throughout her time with Trump,” Johnson said.
