The man who plunged to his death at a Madison Square Garden rock concert at the weekend has been identified.
According to the New York Post, 51-year-old Paul Kueker from Connecticut attended a Goose concert with his wife in the World’s Most Famous Arena on Saturday night.
The couple were said to be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, but the occasion turned to tragedy when Kueker fell 150 feet from the Chase Bridge inside the arena.
Kueker’s wife didn’t see her husband fall, but grew concerned after he failed to return from the restroom.
“He was the greatest kid in the whole wide world,” Kueker’s mother, Patricia Finelli, said, as per the Post.
“He’d give you the shirt off his back.
“He has two children, a beautiful wife, and he took care of me like I was a piece of gold.”
After the fall, officers eventually found his wife, Kristen, in the stadium and informed her what had happened.
Goose, a Connecticut-based band, played a two-night show at MSG as part of a summer tour. They completed their full 16-song set around midnight Saturday, after the fall.
“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight’s show,” the band wrote in a statement.
“We extend our deepest sympathies to everyone affected. Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support.”
