Brandi Glanville takes “face off” in surgery to remove “something alive”

Insisting that something is “alive” beneath her skin and feasting on her flesh, Real Housewives star Brandi Glanville is taking her “face off” so doctors can discover the cause of her facial disfigurement.

Brandi Glanville, 53, who rose to fame on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has spent years searching for answers to the facial changes and health problems she says have turned her life upside down, undergoing numerous treatments without finding a lasting solution.

“I know I look scarier than a corpse. I’ve been trying to tell doctors for years [that] something’s wrong with me…it’s been a humbling journey,” Glanville wrote in a Sept. 25 social media post.

Now, the reality star is hoping an exploratory procedure will finally reveal what’s causing her mysterious symptoms.

‘Thick neck with a Beetlejuice head’

Speaking on the Oct. 8 episode of her Brandi Glanville Unfiltered podcast, the RHOBH alum described her reaction to seeing herself on television.

“I’m afraid for my health. Like, I don’t know what’s making me sick,” she said, according to People.

Before insisting that “something is in my face eating it,” the mother of two described herself as having “a thick neck with a Beetlejuice head.”

“This thing just started rattling,” she said, pointing to the upper left part of her jaw.

“I don’t feel like my neck is a part of my body,” she shared, adding ‘It’s like something made a cove for itself. It’s so crazy.”

Although she has previously suggested a parasite could be responsible, Glanville said doctors have raised the possibility of a fungal infection.

“I’m pretty sure there’s some sort of worm living in my face. But they said it’s a fungus,” she said, adding “Funguses are alive as well.”

Glanville believes the problem has spread beyond her face to her head, neck and spine, although the precise cause of her symptoms has not been independently established.

And while she waits for answers, the reality star has also been dealing with a devastating personal loss.

‘I’m gutted’

Earlier in October, Glanville announced that her father, Guy, had died at 77, sharing her grief in a brief message on X.

“My dad died, I’m gutted I hate this life right now,” she wrote alongside a broken-heart emoji.

She did not disclose the circumstances of his death, but the announcement came months after she had asked followers to pray for him during a hospitalization in May.

With her father’s death adding to an already difficult period, Glanville is now facing a procedure she hopes will help her reclaim some normalcy.

‘It moves when it wants to’

Glanville has described the Oct. 23 surgery in unusually graphic terms, telling listeners that her doctor plans to examine her Eustachian tubes, sinuses and gums while investigating two areas where he suspects fungal growths or another abnormality.

According to the Daily Mail, Glanville said the doctor had identified “two definite spots, like either fungal balls or something alive,” adding that she believes whatever is causing her symptoms can move.

“It’s alive,” she insisted. “It moves when it wants to.”

‘Taking my face off’

The procedure is expected to involve clearing the affected areas to improve drainage, potentially using balloons to widen her Eustachian tubes. Glanville also described plans for treatment involving her own blood platelets.

Unlike a cosmetic facelift, she said the operation would be considerably more invasive, joking that she was essentially “taking my face off” as doctors worked to investigate the source of her symptoms.

“He’s, like, literally going in there with a power washer, basically, and knives and all this s***,” she said.

Despite her fears about undergoing facial surgery for the first time, Glanville said she’s “so excited” to get some answers.

“These past four years. I didn’t think I was going to make it,” she said on her podcast.
