Athos Salome, the 39-year-old Brazilian mystic better known as the “Living Nostradamus”, has claimed that two of his predictions for 2026 have already come true, while issuing a stark warning concerning a third.
As per the New York Post, Salome, who previously rose to relative internet fame for allegedly predicting events like the COVID-19 pandemic and the death of Queen Elizabeth II, recently reviewed his forecast for the current calendar year.
He claimed to have successfully predicted the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, reportedly pointing more specifically to the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran.
Detractors would be within their rights to argue that it perhaps didn’t require any gift of foresight to expect those two nations to remain steadfast concerning their animosity toward one another, but Salome claims to have also been right about other things.
That includes the eventual victors of the 2026 World Cup. Though a number of top teams were tipped to have a good chance of winning soccer’s premier prize, it was Spain who ran out champions after beating Argentina in the final.
The “Living Nostradamus” pointed to an earlier prediction of his where he said the winning nation would wear “colours of fire”. There are those who claim Salome initially drew up a list of several potential champions, but the man himself is adamant that he picked Spain to win right from the start.
“While many psychics and commentators around the world were predicting Portugal or other nations to lift the trophy, I identified the finalists and repeatedly emphasised Spain as the most likely champion,” he told website Tyla. “The outcome has now reflected those predictions.”
Yet while accepting or sneering at such claims does little in the way of causing harm, it’s a third prediction for 2026 that people might want to sit up and take notice about.
Salome himself is sounding the alarm over a supposedly upcoming major clash between Russia and NATO in the Arctic Circle.
“The most recent interceptions indicate that Russia is moving missile systems to strategic areas in the Arctic,” he told Tyla earlier this year.
“This increases the likelihood of direct confrontations with NATO during the ice melt in 2026, a time when new shipping routes and energy reserves could play a crucial role.”
As for the methods regarding how he arrives at certain predictions, Salome said he combines symbolic analysis, long-term pattern observation, and studies in Kabbalah.
He is quoted as having said: “I look for cycles, synchronicities and elements that, in my experience, often precede major events. These impressions are then weighed against real-world developments before I share any public conclusion.”
He added: “I also believe it’s important to say that no predictive method is infallible. Predictions are interpretations, not certainties.”
