Prince Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK has sparked many emotions as well as confusion. So King Charles issued a bombshell letter about his son and daughter-in-law’s future. Now, Harry and Meghan have responded.
Many were surprised – and perhaps thought it wasn’t real – when reports about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returning to the UK began spreading. However, it all turned out to be true.
Two weeks ago, the Sussexes, together with their children, Prince Archie and Princes Lilibet, once again landed on UK soil as they plan on moving across the pond.
They have reportedly already enrolled their children in UK schools, and have been staying at a family friend in the Cotswolds until they find their own place.
The couple has already made headlines, both over rumors about Meghan’s demands for her new home and because schools in the area have sent a warning letter to parents.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle returns to UK
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the royal family and royal life behind more than six years ago. Since then, their relationship with the Royal Family has worsened pretty much by the day because of what they have revealed about life behind palace walls.
But while King Charles is said to have been hurt, Prince William took it one step further. The future king and his brother haven’t spoken in years, and just ecause HArry moves back, it doesn’t appear to change anything-
At the time, reports about the Duke and the Duchess’ return were said to have made William “furious.” Meanwhile, rumors have suggested that King Charles and William were “completely united” in not letting Harry and Meghan back into the royal house.
On Monday, King Charles acted. A letter sent on behalf of King Charles clarified that Prince Harry and Meghan will not return as working royals, even after moving back to the UK.
King Charles issues bombshell letter – the Sussexes respond
Despite their return, Harry and Meghan will remain private citizens and will not be allowed to carry out official royal engagements.
They also cannot use the titles “His Royal Highness” or “Her Royal Highness,” according to the letter, which was sent on behalf of the King by the Lord Chamberlain, one of the Palace’s senior officials, the BBC reported.
Now. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have responded. In a statement to the media, reported by the Daily Mail, the couple’s spokesperson said they were “surprised” by King Charles’ letter.
A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess said, “We were a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance,” adding that the letter had caught them “off guard.”
However, opinions on that are divided. A palace source later told the Daily Mail that the Sussexes’ spokesperson was “incorrect,” insisting that Harry and Meghan had received the letter before it was published. However, they were not consulted on what was written.
