Nicole Kidman was just one of many stars who walked the red carpet of the 2026 Emmy Awards on Sunday. But while some praised her “white swan,” dress, one detail left many baffled on social media.
For the first time in nine years, Nicole Kidman appeared at the Emmy Awards. The 59-year-old actress, who has previously won two Emmys for her performance in the television series Big Little Lies, attended the gala to celebrate her series Margo’s Got Money Troubles, which was nominated in eight categories.
The show, which Kidman is one of the executive producers on, won in three categories. Arriving at the red carpet, Nicole Kidman wore a white feathered dress by Chanel.
It featured 46 delicate flowers made from layers of silk and raffia. The actress, who is a Chanel ambassador, completed the elegant look with matching shoes and jewelry from the fashion house, along with a vintage OMEGA watch.

The look quickly became a hot topic online. Some praised the dress, while others rejected her style completely.
In the comments on People Magazine’s post of Kidman from the Emmys, one person wrote, “Boy, her face lifts have changed her face.”
A second person said, “She’s been looking very good and healthy since Keith’s been on.”
A third added, Classy Lady, she’s killing it on the Lioness! Great show!”
But everyone wasn’t convinced. In fact, some social media users even speculated that Kidman has undergone some surgery. While some criticized her for making ‘weird’ poses, others thought her hips were different.
“That’s an ugly dress she’s wearing,” one wrote.
“She’s movin’ like she had one too many glasses of champagne in the limo,” another claimed.
Dress raises questions
A third added, All those daft poses are really embarrassing. What happened to people?” while a fourth wrote, She’s so [explicit] weird – she’s like Amanda LePore. Her performative girlishness is campy AND scary.”
Then there were the hips, which some questioned had changed.
“She looks weird! She doesn’t have that kind of hips!” one user on X wrote.
“Are those fake hips? She’s never had hips like that in her life. Weird,” a second added, while a third claimed. “Nicole Kidman needs to lay off the plastic surgery.”
