Prince Harry and Megha Markle decide to pull their children, rpince Arhcie and Princess Lilibet, from their new UK school after only two days, citing security concerns. Now, parents have shared their brutal reaction to the former Royal Family members’ decision.
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s first week at their new UK school ended abruptly after only two days. A spokesperson for the couple said they switched schools, mainly because of security issues.
“The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements,” the spokesperson said.
“The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family. This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there,” they added.
Sky News reported Sunday that the distance to the children’s school, combined with heavy traffic during drop-off and pick-up times, put added pressure on Harry and Meghan’s security team. It was said it took up to an hour round trip.
Reports also suggest an incident disrupted the couple’s convoy, which was separated during the school run, leaving the cars “like sitting ducks” on the road.
On Tuesday, Archie and Lilibet joined another school in the area for their first lessons.
Parents’ brutal reaction after Harry & Meghan pull Archie and Lilibet from school after 2 days
“It’s a real shame, because they absolutely adored the school, the kids and their parents. It was perfect for them in every way, and the children really enjoyed their time there,” a friend of the Sussexes’ told Hello!
“They really wanted to make it work, but they had to make a difficult decision based on the fact that the team couldn’t make the school run operationally secure.”
Social media erupted after the news became public knowledge. Now, Daily Mail sources have revealed that parents are “baffled” about their decision to remove the prince and princess from the school, whose location has remained private to respect the family’s security concerns.
“Parents at the school are completely baffled. You don’t need to be an expert to know how congested that area is. It’s one of the worst places to drive in the UK,” one source said.
Another added: “This was obviously going to happen.”
Sussexes’ choices are being questioned
Meanwhile, former Head of Royal Protection, Dai Davies, questioned why Harry and Meghan needed to bring their two young children to school with a security convoy in the first place.
“If you keep a low profile, most people outside the school wouldn’t know where you are, what they’re doing, and all the rest of it,” he told LBC News.
“Do they really need to go in convoy with two little children on the school run? If they only just kept a little quieter, kept a lower profile, they’d be a lot safer in my view.”
