The mother of 16 children who were rescued from a ‘house of horrors’ in Ohio, Elizabeth Siders, appears to be pregnant at her latest court appearance.
Sixteen children were found living in what authorities described as horrific conditions at a home in Hamden, Ohio, on June 30, after police executed a search warrant connected to an unrelated public indecency investigation involving Gary Siders Jr.
The discovery led to Elizabeth Siders, 33, her husband Gary Siders Jr., 36, his parents Gary Siders Sr., 73, and Christina Siders, 67, each being charged with multiple counts of child endangerment. All have pleaded not guilty.
The discovery at the home quickly brought attention to the Siders family and the conditions in which the children had allegedly been living.
Authorities have continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged child abuse, while the defendants face the child-endangerment charges in connection with what officers found inside the property.
Elizabeth, the mother of the 16 children, appeared in court at the Vinton County Courthouse on Wednesday, and now people are reacting to the fact that she appears to be carrying a child.
Ohio House of Horrors
The hearing involved allegations separate from the child-endangerment case. Elizabeth and her husband are also accused of sexually abusing a minor who was not one of their children between January and September 2022, per The U.S. Sun. Elizabeth pleaded not guilty to those charges.
In footage from the court hearing, Elizabeth can be seen walking into the courtroom in an orange prison jumpsuit, with what appears to be a baby bump. Photos from the hearing also show her holding her stomach.
When asked by a reporter whether she is pregnant or not her attorney, Thomas Stolly, said: “I can’t address that at this time,” Stolly said.
Elizabeth Siders pregnant?
Prosecutors asked for her bond to be set at $250,000 in connection with the sexual-abuse allegations, but a judge has yet to confirm that amount. For the moment, she remains behind bars, with her bond in the separate child-endangerment case already set at $300,000.
Last month, Gary Jr. appeared in court over the same sexual-abuse charges and also pleaded not guilty. His bond received an additional $250,000, bringing the total to $550,000.
As the legal proceedings continue, Elizabeth remains behind bars while facing charges stemming from the conditions in which the 16 children were found, as well as separate allegations involving a minor. Her latest court appearance has now drawn renewed attention to the family and the ongoing case.
