Just hours after stealing the spotlight at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, Madonna left fans completely baffled with a bizarre late-night TikTok video.
The 68-year-old “Queen of Pop” kicked off Sunday’s VMAs with an eight-minute opening performance, joined by stars including Charli XCX, Julia Garner, and Sabrina Carpenter, which drew a wide range of reactions.
But what happened hours later really got people talking. Around 3 a.m. on Monday, Madonna shared a strange video on TikTok featuring Charli XCX and Julia Garner.
The trio can be seen screaming directly into the camera, leaving fans scratching their heads over the unexpected footage. Charli XCX, dressed in jeans and a black bra, leans against a bed as she dramatically flips her hair back.
Then the camera turns to Madonna. The pop icon is seen on the bed wearing a black latex-and-lace outfit, getting down on all fours before pulling a dramatic, screaming expression straight at the camera.
While the clip has gathered a ton of views, the aftermath has been about critique. It has drawn severe backlash from fans, with many expressing concern about Madonna’s mental health.

“This is scary,” one user wrote on X.
“Shit like this makes me think lots of famous people are deeply unwell and their initial quest for fame was part of that,” a second added.

Other social media users stated that Madonna is too old to be doing such things.
