Susan Dell stepped into the spotlight at the White House with a message aimed at American families.
Yet while the billionaire philanthropist was there to promote a new savings initiative for children, her appearance soon became a talking point for a different reason.
Whenever Donald Trump steps into the spotlight, attention tends to follow — but sometimes, the people standing beside him become a talking point of their own. Take Jayme Franklin, for example, the “bobble head” woman who went viral for repeatedly nodding her head and holding her stomach while standing behind President Donald Trump during a White House announcement in August.
Now, another woman who appeared alongside the president has captured the internet’s attention — and this time, it’s Susan Dell.
The 62-year-old mother of four appeared alongside President Donald Trump and her husband, Michael Dell, as they discussed Trump Accounts, a program intended to help American children build savings for their future, on October 7.
Encourage families to get involved
Susan urged parents and grandparents to register their children and take advantage of the money already available through the initiative.
“Every child across the country. These accounts are for you. We believe in you, and we want you to dream big because we know you can make your dreams come true. So, parents and grandparents, please claim your child’s account.”
She continued to encourage families to get involved.
”These accounts are ready. They’re waiting for you, and they have money in them. So, claim your child’s accounts and start adding money to their accounts and preserving a wonderful future for them.”

The appearance followed a pledge of $6.25 billion from the Dell family to support the initiative. Their contribution placed them at the center of the announcement, but there was another memorable moment when Trump appeared to suggest that Susan might one day enter politics.
After listening to her speak, the president turned to Michael and remarked:
“What a good job. Michael, is she thinking of running for office? […] because I’ll endorse her immediately. She has my complete and total endorsement. Good job.”
The exchange brought an unexpected twist to the event, with Trump publicly expressing his support for a potential political career for Susan.
However, as photographs and video from the White House began circulating, the conversation moved beyond the financial announcement and Trump’s remarks.
Susan Dell’s appearance prompts online speculation
At 62, Susan’s recent appearance has drawn comparisons with photographs taken at earlier stages of her life. Some viewers have focused on differences in her facial features, particularly around her eyes, cheeks and jawline.
Many people began speculating about whether the mom of four had undergone plastic surgery or other cosmetic procedures. On X, one user asked, “What is wrong with Susan Dell’s face/eyes?”
Another wrote, “Yes, I can’t get over it??? What happened? Don’t want to be mean but??” A third person shared a similar reaction, commenting, “On another note, can you tell me what is happening with Susan’s face? It took me back a minute.”

The Irish Star reported on the speculation surrounding whether Susan might have undergone cosmetic treatments. However, she has not publicly confirmed having plastic surgery, and photographs alone cannot establish whether someone has had a particular procedure.
To explore the comparisons, the publication even consulted Dr. Ross Perry, medical director of Cosmedics skin clinics, who discussed several possible explanations for the differences viewers believe they see.
“Susan has sparked widespread speculation about whether she may have undergone cosmetic treatments. In comparison to earlier photographs, her face appears noticeably tighter and tauter, and her eye area looks more open than usual. Several aesthetic procedures, surgical or non-surgical, could create this type of result,” Perry said.
One possibility he discussed was a facelift, noting what he perceived as a lifted appearance around the jawline and mid-face.
“There is a possibility she may have undergone a full facelift, as the skin around the jawline and mid-face appears lifted,” he said.
Perry also mentioned upper blepharoplasty, a procedure involving the upper eyelids, as another possible explanation for the appearance of the eye area.
“Another possibility is upper blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), which can make the eyes look more open, refreshed, and awake, an effect that looks likely in the recent images.”
These were possibilities raised by the specialist, not confirmation that Susan has undergone either procedure.
Perry explained that surgical procedures are not the only treatments capable of changing how someone’s face looks. Nonsurgical options, including Botox and dermal fillers, can also influence facial contours and the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
“However, non-surgical treatments can also achieve significant changes. Botox can smooth forehead and frown lines, while dermal fillers in the cheeks or tear troughs can restore lost volume and create a more youthful contour.”
He also noted that the amount of product used may affect the final result.
“In some cases, overuse of injectables, such as excessive Botox around the eyes or too much filler in the mid-face, can even contribute to a slightly ‘wide-eyed’ or startled appearance.”
However, Perry emphasized that there are many reasons why photographs of the same person can look different, particularly when taken years apart.

”It’s also important to remember that lighting, makeup, camera angles, weight loss, or even temporary swelling can significantly alter how someone looks in photos. Without a professional consultation, any discussion of cosmetic work remains purely speculative.”
The Irish Star also consulted Dr. Gerard Lambe, cosmetic surgeon and founder of the Reflect Clinic, who shared similar suspicions about Susan’s appearance.
He suggested possible fillers, eyelid surgery, a facelift, Botox and lip augmentation, estimating the procedures could cost $35,000–$55,000 or more. He stressed that he had not examined Susan personally, so his comments were only professional speculation.
”Leave her be”
As older photographs resurfaced, social media users began comparing Susan’s earlier appearances with more recent images. Some pointed to her facial contours, while others discussed her eyebrows, nose, teeth and overall styling.
The comparisons sparked a variety of reactions, with some people expressing surprise and others defending her right to make personal choices about her appearance.
One commenter looking at the older photographs wrote, “She was pretty- they were both younger too.”
Another offered a more critical opinion: ”She used to be beautiful. People tend to age more gracefully without all the plastic surgeries.”

A third commenter speculated, ”Really bad plastic surgery probly, or ozempic victim.”
Others questioned why people choose to pursue cosmetic treatments, with one asking, ”Why do they keep doing this to their faces?”
Not everyone viewed the discussion in the same way. One commenter wrote, “She looks and sounds so natural.”

Another asked, “What happened to her? 😱”
A further reaction offered a more sympathetic perspective: “She’s 62 and had some plastic surgery; she could put on a few pounds and probably look a bit healthier imo. Still human.”
One person also pushed back against the scrutiny, writing, ”Cosmetic procedures. That’s all. Leave her be.”
The reactions illustrate how quickly a public appearance can become the focus of online commentary, particularly when older photographs are brought into the conversation.
