Here’s who qualifies for Susan ‘woman in red dress’ Dell’s $6.25 billion gift that’s expected to land in accounts this week

The $250 deposits from Susan and Michael Dell’s $6.25 billion pledge were expected to land in children’s Trump Accounts by Friday.

Susan Dell, 62, went viral this week after appearing next to Trump at the White House on October 7 to promote the children’s Trump Accounts program. Some users on X pointed to her posture and reserved manner, with one writing that her “mannerisms [are] like a robot clone.” She and Michael Dell have been married since 1989 and have four children.

The $250 deposits from their $6.25 billion pledge were expected to arrive in children’s Trump Accounts by Friday, October 9. The couple announced the pledge in December 2025, and it covers $250 for each of 25 million eligible children.

Who qualifies for the $250

According to Invest America’s Q&A page, children born between 2016 and 2024 could qualify, which means kids aged 10 or younger.

The fund first targeted children in the lowest-income ZIP codes, then widened to more neighborhoods until it reached 25 million kids. Eligibility depends on the median family income of the child’s ZIP code, not the household’s own earnings.

Earlier reports put the ZIP code income cutoff at $115,000. Invest America’s latest guidance lists about $118,000, based on US Census data. That’s still below the $150,000 threshold first proposed.

Parents can look up their area’s figures on Census Reporter’s median family income table. Children living on military bases are included if they otherwise qualify. Money has been set aside for children in foster care, but those contributions aren’t expected until next year.

Michael Dell told Yahoo Finance he hopes the gift will put kids “on the path of saving and investing and learning about compounding.”

70 million children now have accounts

About 70 million American children now have a Trump Account. On October 1, the Treasury Department automatically enrolled 60 million children under 18. That added to about 10 million whose parents had signed them up since the accounts opened on July 4.

“With automatic enrollment now complete, every American child under the age of 18 has a Trump Account in their name, making it easier than ever for families to participate,” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said.

Trump said he expects the accounts to grow.

“So if all goes well, which I think it will, they’ll end up being quite rich by the time they’re 18 and then 21,” he said.
