AI predicts when World War 3 could break out and the date is disturbingly close

More than 80 years have passed since World War II, but fears of another global conflict are back. Now, an AI chatbot has predicted when World War Three could break out, and its proximity gives us chills.

Today, many major conflicts are taking place around the globe. These include the Russian invasion of Ukraine and several conflicts between countries in the Middle East.

Donald Trump even warned in 2023 that the world was at the brink of World War III. But in reality, when could another world war actually happen?

Unilad asked an AI chatbot for its view on the risk of a future global conflict. Its answer offered a possible timeline, while noting that no one can predict the future with certainty.

“If I had to make a guess, I’d say World War 3 is unlikely to begin in the next one or two years, but the risk of a major-power conflict over the next decade is worth taking seriously,” it said.

The chatbot also identified several scenarios that could potentially trigger a much larger conflict.

“The biggest danger, in my view, would be a chain reaction: a direct clash between Russia and NATO, a US–China conflict over Taiwan, or a regional war drawing several major powers into direct fighting.”

AI predicts when World War 3 could break out

The chatbot did not predict that World War Three would begin straight away. Instead, it explained that the period 2028 to 2035 could become more concerning.

Still, no reliable evidence suggests a world war will begin during those years. The AI also explained that predicting events after 2035 would be “too uncertain” to make a strong forecast. Still, when pushed to name a specific date, the chat gave an unexpected and terrifying answer.

“But, if I absolutely had to pick a date, purely as a guess, I’d say October 1, 2030,” it added.

Remember, the date should not be treated as a genuine forecast of what will happen. Unilad also wrote that the chatbot made it clear it was giving a guess rather than a prediction based on reliable statistical evidence.

Although the AI outlined potential dangers, it also offered some reassuring news. It said it believed “we will get through the next few years without a full-scale world war,” despite the “danger being real.”

“The danger is real, but a global war is not inevitable, and countries have strong incentives to avoid one,” it continued.

“A dangerous international situation doesn’t automatically mean war”

The chatbot further warned against assuming that rising international tensions automatically mean a war is about to begin.

It noted that “a dangerous international situation doesn’t automatically mean war is imminent,” further stressing that the guess should not be mistaken for a ‘reliable’ prediction.

“There’s no sound basis for identifying a particular year as the start of World War 3,” it said.
