Body-camera footage has captured a police encounter with Florida woman Samantha Lee White, who investigators accused of engaging in a sexual act with the family dog.
The footage documents her interaction with deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, who arrived at the property in 2024 to search for evidence related to allegations of child sexual abuse material.
At first, White appeared confused by the situation.
“I don’t understand. I can’t have you read this now. I haven’t taken this morning. I just woke up and I have no idea what’s going on,” she said.
An officer explained that detectives were investigating the allegations and would be looking for electronic devices and other potential evidence. White was told that officers would speak with her further once the search was complete.
When asked whether she had any questions, she instead asked if she could take the dog into a small garden area so it could play.
The footage captured an encounter that would later become part of a case resulting in prison sentences for both White and her husband, John White.
Samantha Lee and John White case
Authorities had received reports alleging that John had recorded his wife engaging in sexual activity with one of their dogs. The couple owned four dogs, including a Labrador that was allegedly the animal involved.
The investigation ultimately led to criminal convictions.
Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno publicly criticized the couple following the case.
“I am disgusted by the actions of these two North Fort Myers residents. I will not tolerate any kind of abuse in Lee County,” Marceno said. “I stand by my guarantee to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and put criminals behind bars.”
Samantha eventually pleaded guilty in court following the investigation.
She was sentenced to three years in prison, while John received a six-year prison sentence. His case also involved convictions for possessing child sexual abuse material. Both Samantha and John were prohibited from owning animals and placed on the Animal Abuser Registry.
