Kate Middleton admits she ‘miss’ Prince George amid Eton move

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eldest son, Prince George, no longer lives at home; he now lives at Eton College. Now, Kate Middleton has broken her silence about him no longer living with them, admitting she misses him.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have one less person to make dinner for these days. On September 8, Prince George went through the gates at Eton College, where he has now started school.

With that, George is walking in his father’s footsteps, as William also attended the famed boarding school.

On George’s first day, his parents joined him for the official welcome. They met Eton’s headmaster, Simon Henderson, who told George, the future king, “Welcome, good luck, enjoy it.”

Afterward, George changed into the Eton “school dress”, which is a uniform standardized in the 1960s. It includes a black tailcoat, waistcoat and pinstriped trousers, with a stiff white collar. The future king then posed for an official first-day-at-school photograph.

Both Prince William and Prince Harry went to Eton, and one thing that seemed to be a great experience for them was the privacy.

Neither William. nor Harry were followed by the media at the school, and now, the Prince and Princess of Wales hope that Prince George will be shown the same respect, says Hello Magazine’s Royal Editor Emily Nash.

“The Waleses’ hope is that he will be able to fit in and have some experience of feeling ‘ordinary’ in a school where the children of high-profile families are not unusual,” she said.

Kate Middleton speaks out about how he “misses” Prince George

At Eton, George will have his own room. However, it will be in the dormitory, with no special treatment. The tuition comes to nearly $90,000 per year

It’s been six weeks since Prince George left home to start school at Eton. On Friday, George got his first longer extended break and returned to the family’s home, Forest Lodge, located in Greta Windsor Park.

Students will return on November 8, giving them more than two weeks off. And if there is one person who is surely glad to have her son home, it’s Kate Middleton

While visiting a joint charity shop in Norfolk for the East Anglia Children’s Hospice on Thursday, Kate Middleton spoke with customers, who asked how her children were doing.

As reported by The Mirror, one person who spoke with Kate was 68-year-old Denise Ashton. She revealed that Kate was longing for her son to come home.

She said she’s looking forward to George coming home – she’s missed him, Denise told The Mirror. “They may be going somewhere (during the break).”

Kate Middleton was reportedly “heartbroken” over George going to Eton

Meanwhile, another young customer told Kate Middleton it was their last day of school before the holiday, to which Kate replied, “My children break up tomorrow, and I can’t wait to have them all home.”

Where Prince George was to attend school was debated for a long time. In 2023, The Mirror reported that Prince Philip urged William and Kate to rethink their idea of George going to Eton, as it was too close to Windsor and wouldn’t give him any privacy.

Still, at the time, In Touch Weekly claimed Kate reluctantly agreed to Prince George’s wish to be “just like his father” and attend Eton. But she wouldn’t have wanted it in the first place because of her own boarding school experiences.

“But she’s still heartbroken. She was horribly bullied at her first boarding school and can’t bear the thought of George suffering through that,” the source said.
