Man Wants To Bring His Dog To His Room. The Hotel Owner’s Response? Just Wonderful.

Anyone who has or has had pets knows that it can sometimes be a little tricky to get them into public places such as restaurants or hotels. There is a preconception that all animals misbehave and make huge messes in the places they’re in—which is, of course, not true at all.

Here’s a story I came across that really helps put that in perspective. It begins with a man who worries about an upcoming hotel stay. He absolutely wants to bring his dog along with him, but can’t be sure that hotel management will allow it.

The man decides to write a letter to the hotel owner prior to booking a room at the hotel to politely ask if his dog might be allowed to join him. I can’t be certain that this all happened in real life exactly as described, but what I know for sure is that the hotel owner’s response is so wonderful that it just has to be shared 🙂

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in a Midwest town he planned to visit on vacation. He wrote:

Dear Hotel Manager,

My dog is my best friend and he’s been by my side for many years. I am looking to book a room at your hotel and would very much like to bring my dog with me.

An immediate reply came from the hotel manager, who wrote, “I’ve been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I’ve never had a dog steal towels, bed clothes, silverware or pictures off the walls. I’ve never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I’ve never had a dog run out on a hotel bill. Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you’re welcome to stay here, too.”

I thought that this hotel manager’s response was just awesome. Share if you agree.
