Once upon a time, these cats were worshiped in ancient Egypt. They were depicted in paintings, bronze figures and statues foiund in Pharaonic tombs. The small cats lived mainly in sub-Saharan Africa and were considered small felines.
The cats are easy to tame and are sometimes kept as pets, especially in the US.
