Charlie the dog was living on the streets of Los Angeles, USA. And no one seemed to care about him. But one day, a dog shelter rescued him from the streets. However, most of the dog shelters around only accept a dog for a short period of time. And even though they try to find new homes for the dogs, unless someone adopts the dog within two weeks, the poor thing gets killed. Luckily, Charlie got another chance. He was dirty and his fur was beaten. But the people at the shelter washed Charlie, cut his fur and cleaned him up. Two days later, Charlie was adopted. The good people at the shelter are truly heroes! But we most remember all the other dogs living on the streets around the world; there are thousands of dogs like Charlie that deserves a second chance!
