A 26-year-old actor famous for his work in the Mexican entertainment industry was found dead three days after being reported missing on September 3.
According to saddening reports, the family of James Hollcroft confirmed his passing just over a week after he was first declared missing, describing the young man as someone who “achieved a lot in a short time”.
As per the New York Post, James had last been seen near his home in Mexico City prior to disappearing. After word of his going missing reached social media it quickly gained attention from his fanbase, many of whom reposted calls for help in the search.
The actor, a popular figure in the Mexican entertainment industry for roles in shows such as Como dice el dicho, was reported deceased days later. His passing was confirmed on social media his sister, Jane Hollcroft.
“I will love you forever, thank you for the years we shared together and for giving me the most magnificent moments,” she wrote her Instagram post. “You will always be present in our hearts little brother.”
CEA Televisa, the educational entertainment institution James worked for, released a statement champion his talent and potential, as well as the impact he had during his short career.
“Thank you for all those good times we spent together during your acting training,” they wrote.
“We will carry you in our memories and in our hearts, you will always be part of our CEA family, farewell dear James Hollcroft.”
James’s brother-in-law also shared a post that read: “I wish this was all just a dream. Thank you for being the brother, uncle, and great son that you were. We will miss you a lot. This really breaks my heart. Today, we lower the curtain here, but I know you’re in heaven staging the great production you always talked about.”
