A horrifying accident in which two people in their 20s were struck and killed by a train was caught on film. What they did shortly before the train hit them has people asking questions.
A tragic scene unfolded at a Manhattan subway station early Sunday morning when two people were struck and killed by a train. Per Amny, the man and woman were sitting on the tracks at Spring Street station around 3:14 a.m.
A southbound train was pulling into the station when the motorman spotted the two – a 24-year-old man from Sayreville, NJ, and a 24-year-old woman from Dayton, NY – and immediately tried to activate the emergency brakes.
But it was too late. The train struck both, leaving them trapped underneath. When emergency personnel arrived, both victims were found dead. EMS pronounced them deceased at the scene.

The woman’s identity has not been released as authorities work to notify her family. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
At the moment, there is no indication that they had been pushed or fell onto the tracks, the NY Post reported. However, investigators are looking into whether the man and woman may have been drinking beforehand, police sources told the news outlet.
Afterward, horrifying footaged that appears to show the man and woman’s final moments were published on Instagram. A video shared online appears to show the pair sitting on the tracks as the train approached.
In the final moments, they seemingly remained where they were, even appearing to look toward the oncoming train just before it reached them.
Still, police say it remains unclear why they were sitting on the tracks in the first place.
