Ben Affleck made the tragic decision to move his things out of the marital mansion he shares with Jennifer Lopez while the singer was in Europe, if reports in TMZ are to be believed.
In perhaps the biggest indication yet that the pair are headed their separate ways, Affleck is said to have moved the last of his things out before J Lo returned from her solo trip to Italy and France.
The A-listers have been the subject of mass gossip and speculation over the past few months, and most of what’s been said points towards the idea that their marriage is on the rocks. Neither party has officially confirmed or refuted the rumors, and the silence is being taken by some as damning.
Fans of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez had surely believed they were witnessing a fairytale ending to a romance when the couple got hitched in Las Vegas in 2022, virtually 20 years on from the breakdown of their first engagement.
‘Bennifer’ had finally reconciled and realized the aspirations they left behind two decades ago. Last year, Ben and Jennifer splurged cash on a Beverly Hills mansion worth something in the region of $61 million; a sign, if ever there was one, that their commitment to one another was for life.
Yet take one look at the celebrity headlines of recent weeks/months and you’ll see a very definite, unavoidable pattern. Ben and Jennifer are at odds with one another; their marriage in very serious peril.
It’s been reported that Ben has moved out of the couple’s shared home and is instead renting a property as he films The Accountant 2. J Lo, meanwhile, canceled her planned North American tour, citing a need to spend more time with her family. Last month it was reported that the mansion they purchased in 2023 has been put up for sale.
And now it’s said that Ben has moved his things out of that home, and he did so while Lopez was on holiday on Europe.
TMZ even claim that a divorce filing is imminent, though we’ll stress that there’s no concrete evidence to back that up at present.
Nevertheless, the paparazzi were on hand to catch Ben leaving he and J Lo’s home on Sunday. The actor is said to have responded angrily when they began getting their shots.
Last week, it was reported that Matt Damon – one of Ben’s best friends – is concerned that Affleck might spiral out of control and relapse under the weight of speculation regarding his supposed failing marriage.
As per the Daily Mail, Damon, 53, has told Affleck to “focus on his work” so as not to lose sight of his professional aims and objectives.
“Matt tried to warn Ben when he got back together with JLo that this could happen,” an insider told the Mail. “Matt was there to help Ben get it together after their first split and he felt like this would happen again.”
