Few people who are interested in celebrity news have never heard the name Amber Heard. The actress and then-boyfriend, Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp, were involved in a high-profile legal battle. The trial was even broadcast on television.
Johnny Depp had sued his ex-wife for defamation over an opinion piece she wrote for The Washington Post, in which she described herself as a victim of domestic abuse without naming him. Amber Heard later filed a countersuit.
In the end. the jury awarded Depp, who denied ever abusing Heard, $15 million in compensatory and punitive damages. Heard, meanwhile, won one of her three counterclaims against the Pirates of the Caribbean star and was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages.
Since the trial ended in 2022, the now 40-year-old actress decided to leave the spotlight behind. She not only left the spotlight but also the U.S., moving to Spain.
She has kept a low profile and, since then, has focused on her life as a mother. A source told Us Magazine in June 2023, “Amber is living her best life,” noting that she felt like ‘a pariah’ after the end of her and Depp’s court battle, adding that she has been ” so much happier” since moving away from Hollywood to the calmness in Spain.

It was evident that Amber Heard wanted to get away from it all. In fact, it’s been reported that she even changed her name to the pseudonym “Martha Jane Cannary” as she attempted to start her new life.
Amber Heard was already a mother during the trial against Johnny Depp. Her oldest child, daughter Oonagh Paige, was born in April 2021, and in 2025, she welcomed twins: daughter Agnes and son Ocean.
The family of four lives a quiet life in Spain’s capital, Madrid, and a quick look at her Instagram shows they’re enjoying themselves. Amber Heard has posted many pictures of her cooking at home, hanging out with her children and exercising, even running marathons.
The actress rarely shares personal updates. However, she did on Monday.
In a series of pictures on her Instagram, Heard shared that she had completed the half-marathon in the city of San Sebastian. She ran 21 kilometers, approximately 13 miles, in just under 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Quite life in Spain with her children
Accompanying the pictures, Heard wrote, “Eskerrik asko Donosti!,” which is Basque for “thank you very much, San Sebastian.”
Earlier this year, she also shared photos after completing a 10K race in Madrid. It’s unclear whether she will return to acting. Her last major film was in 2023, when she starred in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Either way, life in Spain certainly seems to be treating Amber Herad, and her children amazingly.
