Even if you don’t know much about the world of tennis, you will probably have heard the name Anna Kournikova. The Russian tennis star has been a household name for decades now.
While she would be photographed so often, she has been kept out of the limelight recently. Now it seems that the tennis star finally made an appearance and it has really surprised people.

It seems former tennis star Anna Kournikova has gotten injured. The 43-year-old was spotted wearing an orthopedic boot and in a wheelchair when she was out and about with family this weekend. She was spotted in Bal Harbour Shops in Miami, Florida.
In photos obtained by The Post, Kournikova was spotted with her two daughters, Lucy and Mary, whom she shares with her partner, singer Enrique Iglesias. Their daughter, Lucy, has a twin brother, Nicholas.
Kournikova wore a black hoodie and matching pants, and had her hair tied in a bun. She wore black tinted sunglasses as a woman pushed her wheelchair. The Grand Slam doubles champion retired from tennis at 21 years old because of injuries. It is unclear how and when Kournikova suffered her injuries.
Kournikova and Iglesias have been dating since 2001, after she appeared in his music video for the song ‘Escape.’ Since they began dating, the couple has been very private about their personal life.
The last time the couple were spotted publicly was during Mother’s Day celebrations as well as Iglesias’ birthday celebrations on May 8, 2022. She shared a picture of the family celebrating in their backyard.
While Kournikova has retreated into a more private life after her early retirement, Iglesias is still performing and working as a singer. He was seen driving a boat with his daughter Mary and Kournikova’s father, Sergei Kournikova, in Miami last July.
Iglesias said in an interview that after he met Anna Kournikova in the music video for his song ‘Escape,’ they basically ‘grew up’ together.
“When we met — although she came from the sports world — in a way, we kind of got each other,” he said to People in an interview. “She knew what my world was like. I kind of knew what her world was like. So that understanding helped a lot. We just started connecting little by little and got stronger and stronger and stronger.”
Kournikova retired as a tennis legend in 2003 with 16 career doubles titles under her belt.
She reached the semifinals of Wimbledon in 1997.
