Bebe Rexha, singer-songwriter, shares photos of injuries after a man hurled a cell phone onstage at her

Bebe Rexha is okay following a frightening incident that occurred during a sold-out show Sunday in New York City.

Moments before the 33-year-old singer began her final song of the night, someone from the crowd hurled a cell phone at the stage and hit the Rexha in the face.

The pop star immediately collapsed onstage clutching her face. According to Rolling Stone she was brought to a local hospital where she received stitches to her face.

The incident was captured on camera and shared on social media.

The alleged suspect, identified as Nicolas Malvagna of New Jersey, was immediately taken into custody and was arraigned Monday evening.

Malvagna was charged with two counts of assault in the three degree; one count of harassment in the second degree; one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree; and one count of attempted assault in the third degree.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office said that not only did the 27-year-old admit to intentionally throwing the phone, but he said, “I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny.”

The incident, which abruptly ended Sunday night’s show, left Rexha with a black eye and cut above her eye.

Monday morning Rexha updated her loyal fans with a photo on Instagram alongside a short caption reading, “Im good.”

It’s ridiculous that anyone would even think to throw something onstage at an artist. Hopefully justice is served so others see that this behavior will not be taken lightly.
