Bruce Willis and Demi Moore are officially grandparents!

The former couple’s eldest daughter Rumer Willis gave birth to a baby girl last week. She and boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas made the announcement Tuesday.

Rumer and Derek announced they were expecting their first child together in December.

Moore expressed her excitement about her new role in life.

“Entering my hot kooky unhinged grandma era,” she wrote in the caption when she reshared her daughter’s announcement.

Rumer’s pregnancy has come at a difficult time for the family, as her father Bruce has been publicly battling frontotemporal dementia. However, despite the heartbreaking diagnosis, everyone has been extremely excited about welcoming a new person into the family.

“[My parents] are so excited. My sisters are so excited, and it’s so fun to be bringing in the first grandkid in our family, especially because we’re such a huge group at this point,” she told People.

She added that the excitement has also helped her cope with some of the more difficult times she’s had to endure during the past several months.

“…even those moments that are challenging, or feel frustrating, I’m just so excited, that always kind of trumps [everything]… But, it’s wild. It’s the wildest experience, even more so than I ever thought of.”
