Dolly Parton is set to release her first rock album this coming November, but don’t expect to see her on the road performing the guaranteed hits from the 9 To 5 hitmaker.

While the Queen of Country doesn’t see retirement in her future, she also doesn’t see multi-city tours either.

“I’m not going on tour anymore, not in the near future. Never say never, as they say, but I’ll never retire. But touring is a little too much for me now. You have to spend at least six months preparing for a tour, and in order for it to make the money that you hope it will, you’ve got to commit yourself to a year and a half or so of a show,” Parton told Chris Evans of The Chris Evans Breakfast Show.

But Parton isn’t giving up on performing altogether.

“I’m just not willing to do that [touring] anymore. I will continue to do special shows like a long weekend. I’ll probably do some more shows but not touring.”

The 77-year-old singer-songwriter previously expressed her desire to stop touring even though she planned to release a new album.

As for what Parton has planned next, in addition to spending more time with her husband the Queen of Nashville wants to have a documentary made about her entire career.

“I hope to do a documentary on my life. I think those are wonderful. I’m actually in the middle of doing a Broadway musical of my life, which I’ve been trying to do for 15, 20 years now, but pretty soon I’m going to be able to do that, which tells a great deal of my life.”

“I’ve done different documentaries, many documentaries, but someday I would like to do a complete story of my life and document all the things that I have done, and have it done in documentary style.”

I love Dolly Parton so much! I can’t wait until her new album comes out. However I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t be sad if she didn’t go on tour for her first rock album, but I understand how demanding a tour can be.

We love you Dolly!
