Harrison Ford is finally spilling the beans about Indiana Jones’ iconic wardrobe.
For years it was rumored that Ford, 80, really did staple his character’s hat to his head after it kept blowing off during the filming of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
The actor finally addressed the rumors in an interview with GQ.
“I still have the [scar], see it?” he motioned to his hairline when the interviewer brought up the behind the scenes clip of Ford taking a staple gun to his head.
“You do what you need to do.”
Ford went on to discuss the rest of Jones’ wardrobe, including his leather jacket and whip.
“It was presented to me as [an] aspect of character in the first film,” the actor said. “My questions about it were many.”
“Why am I wearing a leather jacket in the jungle? Isn’t it hot here? Why am I carrying a whip? What am I gonna do with a f—— whip? Are you gonna whip people?”
Despite Jones’ questionable outfit – he was told it was “an evocation of a time period” – Ford was “okay” wearing Indy’s outfit because it “makes it my own.”
