Two weeks after welcoming their first child together Heather Rae El Moussa and Tarek El Moussa have revealed their baby boy’s name.
Tristan Jay El Moussa.
Heather shared with US Weekly the adorable reason the couple chose the name Tristan Jay.
“Tarek was supposed to be named Tristan, and his parents ended up naming him Tarek. And then my dad’s middle name is Jay. So it’s four generations of the middle name Jay.”
The Selling Sunset star also shared a brief version of her birth story.
According to the 35-year-old, Tristan was due on January 27th, but arrived several days late.
The couple went in for her final doctor appointment on January 30th, and it was at that appointment the couple was told Heather had to immediately go to the hospital.
“That was just an appointment. And we did a stress test. I’m 35 years old, so we had done a stress test on him almost every time I went for the last few weeks. And at that point, he wasn’t moving as much as he usually did.”
“Tarek and I were like, ‘Wait, what do you mean right now?’ And I said, ‘Can I go home and grab my hospital bag that I’ve been prepping for months now and can I go home and wash my hair?’ Like, I hadn’t washed my hair in four days ’cause I didn’t think I was gonna be going to the hospital after this appointment. And she said, ‘No, you can’t. You need to get monitored.’”
Scar tissue build up from a previous biopsy made it difficult for her water to break.
“They gave me half a pill called Cytotec … that just helped soften [my cervix] to get the process started.”

Within a few hours Heather was told it was time to push, but with each push Tristan’s heart rate dropped.
“My doctor told me that we had to get him out right away,” she shared on Instagram.
“I pushed so hard all the blood vessels broke in my face and chest. Tarek yelled I see his head, push push push. Our baby boy came out healthy and beautiful, I was in a state of shock it was a surreal experience.”
Heather gave birth to the couple’s healthy baby boy on January 31.
