Crystal Hefner, the third wife of the late Hugh Hefner, is ready to spill it all about life with the sex icon and founder of Playboy.
After Hugh’s death in 2017, Crystal kept her promise to “only say good things” about her late husband, but now the 37-year-old is ready to tell all, including how she really felt about her husband.
Crystal accepted an invitation into the Playboy Mansion in October 2008. At the time she thought she was on top of the world.
“I thought, wow, if I just like everything that he likes and do all the things that he wants me to do, then I’m the favorite. And I was, but I just lost myself in the process,” she told People.
Despite controlling all the “weird, silly, stupid things” about his girlfriends, Crystal said yes when he proposed to her in December 2010.
Although after the proposal, Crystal distanced herself because she realized there was a major power imbalance.
“It seemed like a world of success and fantasy, but everyone’s having to sleep with an 80-year-old. There’s a price. Everything has a price.”
Eventually the couple married in 2012.
While the two tied the knot and Crystal admitted to loving Hugh, she confessed she was never “in love” with the pop culture icon.
During his final years, she acted as his caregiver. Hugh died on September 27, 2017 after a minor infection led to sepsis and cardiac arrest.
Following his death, Crystal remained loyal to her late husband, but more than six years after his death she’s ready to tell her side of the story.
