Jane Fonda is still waiting for an apology from Jennifer Lopez after iconic ‘Monster-in-Law’ slap scene

In a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Jane Fonda recalled the time Jennifer Lopez unintentionally cut her while the two were filming a scene.

The 80 for Brady actress said the incident occurred during Monster-in-Law‘s iconic slap scene.

For those who are out of the loop, see the video below.

In the scene, Fonda’s character, Viola Fields gets into one of many fights with her soon-to-be daughter-in-law Charlie.

“I slap her, she slaps me, I slap her. Well, Jennifer — as per Jennifer — she had this enormous diamond ring,” Fonda explained. “And so, when she slapped me one of the times, it cut open across my eye, my eyebrow.”

While Charlie quickly apologizes in the film, “Oh my god! Viola, I’m so sorry,” Lopez’s character says.

It sounds like that’s not what happened in real life!

“You know, she’s never apologized.”

In Jennifer Lopez’s defense, Viola Fields did say “You don’t go and slap somebody then apologize. Get some backbone!”
