Jill Biden finally responds to critics who questioned her ‘fishnet’ stockings

As a first lady, your outfits are often criticized.

Back in April, First Lady Jill Biden was questioned for her choice in tights while getting off Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.

Many said her look was unacceptable for a 69-year-old first lady.

Months later we’re finally hearing what Jill Biden has to say about the little controversy over her choice of stockings.

“It’s amazing how much people pay attention to every little detail.”

Several concerned Twitter users called her look “trashy.”

They were not pleased that the first lady wore what many referred to as “fishnets” as she disembarked from Air Force One.

However, just as quick as people were to criticize her outfit choice, there were others who came to her defense.

“Dr. Jill Biden looks fantastic! Call them fishnets or patterned stockings, whatever, she looks great. I wish I could pull off that look, and I’m several years younger than her!” a Twitter user wrote.

Months after what some made it out to be the fashion crime of the century, Biden shared her thoughts on her controversial choice of tights.

“It’s kind of surprising, I think, how much commentary is made about what I wear or if I put my hair in a scrunchie. I put my hair up! Or the stocking thing.…” Biden told Vogue when asked if she was aware of an Instagram account that shared all of her outfits.

The first lady then finally settled the hotly contested debate.

“And they weren’t fishnets. They weren’t lace. They were very pretty stockings.

So there you have it.

Not only by definition were the tights Biden wore that one day in April not fishnets, but the first lady herself said they were not fishnets, but “very pretty stockings.”

Do you think Jill Biden’s tights are an issue?
