Julia Roberts is one of the most well-recognized actresses that Hollywood has ever produced. While most A-List actresses tend to gravitate towards leading men, Roberts challenged the norm.

She married a cinematographer and now has been married to him for 22 years. Keep reading to see what she revealed.

Julia Roberts and her husband, Danny Moder, are celebrating 22 years of marriage. The couple tied the knot on the 4th of July, 2002. On Thursday, the actress took to Instagram to celebrate her wedding anniversary.

She simply captioned her post, “TWENTY TWO YEARS,” followed by a barrage of emojis heart, celebratory emojis, and of course, of the American flag. The couple married on Independence Day over two decades ago on Roberts’ ranch in Taos, New Mexico.

The couple share three children together. Their 19-year-old twins, Phinnaeus and Hazel and 17-year-old son, Henry.

Late last year, Roberts shared something heartwarming on CBS Mornings with interviewer Gayle King. She said that even after all these years she is “embarrassingly” smitten with her husband.

“He’s just a really…he’s just my favorite human,” she gushed about her husband Danny Moder. “He’s so smart and kind and dynamic in the way that he looks at the world and admires people. He’s just so strong and loving.”

The couple met on the set of the 2001 film, The Mexican. In 2015, they worked together again on Secret in Their Eyes. “There were times we would look at each other and think, ‘OK, if you’re here for me, I’m here for you,’ and we’d go a little bit more,” the actress said about working with her husband.

In 2022, the actress said in an interview that while her career was indeed her dream, her home life was much better for her.

“It’s just never consumed me being an actor,” she said. “It is my dream come true, but it is not my only dream come true.”

The award-winning actress said she still considers being a “homemaker” her main role in life.

“The life that I have built with my husband,” she shared. “The life that we’ve built with our children. That’s the best stuff. To come home at the end of the day, triumphantly to them.”
