Marcia Gay Harden makes stunning confession about her three adult children during telethon

Marcia Gay Harden is just one of many celebrities who publicly support the LGBTQ community. Support from people like her is needed now more than ever when discriminatory bills are sweeping the nation.

The So Help Me Todd actress recently appeared on the Drag Isn’t Dangerous telethon where she shared the very personal reason she supported queer people around the world.

“What drives me is — my children are all queer. My eldest child is nonbinary. My son is gay. My youngest is fluid. And you know, they are my kids and they teach me every day,” she told the telethon’s co-host co-host Adam Shankman.

“This is so fear-based and it’s spreading that kind of fear and hatred among other people. I believe this country will fight that,” she continued, talking about the surge of anti-LGBTQ hate.

The telethon, which was held Sunday, featured drag stars, LGBTQ celebrities, and allies who came together to raise money to fight against the anti-LGBTQ legislation. The Hollywood Reporter indicated the funds raised would be split “among approved charities (GLAAD, GLSEN, Headcount, Black Queer Town Hall, The ACLU Drag Defense Fund, Trans Justice Funding Project, Victory Fund) that support LGBTQIA+ causes and drag performers in need, especially in states where they face discrimination and bans.”

Nearly $600,000 was raised through an official GoFundMe.

Charlize Theron, mother to a transgender daughter, made a pre-taped appearance where she expressed her support for drag queens.

“We love you queens. We’re in your corner and we’ve got you, and I will f**k anybody up who’s trying to f**k with anything with you guys,” she said.

There are so many things hurting and really killing our kids and we all know what I’m talking about right now, and it ain’t no drag queen — because if you’ve ever seen a drag queen lip sync for her life, it only makes you happier, it only make you love more, it makes you a better person,” the actress added.

We need to protect and support the LGBTQ community, doing anything else is unacceptable.
