Melania Trump ‘plans to transform’ Donald’s diet

Melania Trump is officially returning to the White House with her husband, Donald Trump. The Slovenian-born former model will take on the role of First Lady for a second time, although this term will undoubtedly be very different. Reports suggest that Melania won’t even reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue full-time and will instead shift between Washington, New York, and Florida.

While Melania might not always stay at the White House, she has already started forming her own East Wing staff, with her chief of staff named. Yet while they will help the First Lady in her daily tasks, keeping an eye on her husband, including what he eats, isn’t one of them.

Donald Trump is known for his love of McDonald’s and other fast food, and he’s not exactly what one might call a role model for exercise. He has reportedly left deserts off his menu at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, but only time will tell if he will drop burgers when he returns to the White House. Could Melania help? According to an insider, Melania has a secret plan – and person – to improve her husband’s diet.

For a second time, Donald Trump and Melania Trump are heading to Washington to take on what is said to be the world’s most challenging and stressful job. With Donald becoming the 47th President of the United States, Melania will resume her duties as First Lady.

Interestingly, their second term looks set to be very different from their first tenure at the White House, particularly since People Magazine sources have claimed it’s ‘unlikely’ that Melania will live there full-time.

“If Melania becomes first lady again, of course people expect her to move into the White House and perform appropriate duties,” a source close to the Trump family said, adding that Melania isn’t keen on relocating to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

“She will have her private living apartment there, and she has her home in New York and her home at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach. She will spend time in all of these places.”

Mary Jordan, author of The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump, told ABC: “She has told people, ‘Look, I’m not the one elected.’ So if she wants to go down to Mar-a-Lago and hang out by herself for two weeks, do that. But she is going to be in the White House. She loves a lot of the pomp and circumstance.”

Melania Trump will only be First Lady on “her terms”

A NY Post source is preaching the same story, claiming Melania will only do a second First Lady spell if she gets to decide the terms.

“Melania will be the first lady, but only on her terms,” the Mar-a-Lago insider said. “She’ll do the big events. But no ladies’ tea and no — or very few — interviews,” the source said. “She views winning as the main show, and the rest she’ll do as she pleases. She’s really in the driver’s seat as to her duties at the White House.”

The source added: “Melania will be a part time first lady — while being a full-time mother and wife.”

Although Melania might not live at the White House full time, her staff will be crucial, just as with all the other first ladies before her. Like Donald, Melania will have a full schedule and staff to help her perform her job fully. On Friday, the First Lady named longtime aide Hayley Harrison as her East Wing chief of staff. It marks Melania’s first hire since her husband won the presidential election.

“Mrs. Harrison has maintained an integral role and exceptional leadership on the First Lady’s team over the past seven years. She has a strong understanding of White House operations, and as Chief of Staff, Mrs. Harrison will oversee and manage the East Wing’s team while strategically liaising with other parts of government,” Melania’s office said in a statement.

Donald & Melania Trump – diet

When a new administration enters the White House, many things naturally change. Not only does the incoming president inevitably replace the staff, but everything from desks and couches to paintings and the colors of the walls can be adapted.

The White House has an executive chef who manages the kitchen and its staff. The chef plans and prepares the menus for the president and their family, and the person in charge of the Oval Office can order anything they want.

In Donald’s case, ordering a salad isn’t among his favored choices. He’s known for his love of fast food, but when he met Melania in the 1990s, they decided to change some of their diets. One particular item Donald and his wife chose not to partake in has a tragic story behind it.

Both Melania and Donald decided not to drink alcohol after Donald’s older brother, Freddy, became a victim of alcoholism. The elder Trump sibling worked as an airplane pilot, but due to his struggles with alcoholism, he had to be grounded. He died from a heart attack in 1981 at age 43.

“My biggest tragedy, my greatest teacher — I learned more from him than anybody,” Donald told The Hollywood Reporter in 2016 about his brother. “Freddy was an incredible guy, handsome, fun, everybody loved him. But sadly, he drank and smoked four packs a day, as much as anybody could. The alcohol just ate him away and I lost him. Every day he lectured me, ‘Look at the mess I’m in. If I ever catch you smoking, you’ll be sorry, drinking even a glass of booze because you’ll like it too much.’”

Donald added: “He knew I was excessive — if I smoked, four packs a day; if I drank, an alcoholic. Even now, I’ve never had a drink nor cigarette. Freddy did a good job.”

Donald Trump’s love for McDonald’s

Even though Donald and Melania decided to live healthier, the former and future president’s love for fast food seems never-ending. His diet is said to be primarily fast food and snacks, with no vegetables and little exercise. In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper in 2016, Donald branded the McDonald’s burger The Quarter Pounder “great stuff.” On October 20, during his 2024 presidential campaign, he worked behind the counter at a McDonald’s in Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania,

“I love McDonald’s,” Trump said at the time. “I like to see good jobs, and I think it’s inappropriate when somebody puts down all over the place that she worked at McDonald’s.”

Donald’s passion for McDonalds has been a love story for a long time. In 2017, Politico reported that during his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump’s bodyguard, Keith Schiller, would routinely do fast food runs to McDonald’s near the Marine Air Terminal in Queens while Trump waited in his limousine outside.

“Egg McMuffins were often the order in the morning, or two quarter-pounders and a large fries later in the day,” Politico reported, citing an unnamed former aide.

Moreover, the news outlet reported that Schiller also headed to McDonald’s in Washington, D.C., if “the White House kitchen staff couldn’t match the satisfaction of a quarter-pounder with cheese (no pickles, extra ketchup) and a fried apple pie.”

Donald Trump – favorite order from McDonalds

Not only unnamed sources have spoken about Donald Trump’s fast food consumption. His son-in-law, Jared Kushner, wrote about it in his 2022 memoir Breaking History, explaining that when Donald contracted COVID-19 in 2020, the fact that the president ordered from McDonald’s was a sign that he was on his way back.

“I knew he was feeling better when he requested one of his favorite meals: a McDonald’s Big Mac, Filet-o-Fish, fries and a vanilla shake,” Kushner wrote.

Some years earlier, in 2017, Trump’s former campaign officials Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie wrote in their book Let Trump Be Trump that his go-to order was “two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish and a chocolate malted shake.”

While fast food isn’t the best thing to base your diet on, Donald has one relatively reasonable explanation for why he eats it so much. Author Michael Wolff claimed in his 2018 book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House that Donald “had a longtime fear of being poisoned.” He further wrote that Trump thought that since nobody knew he was coming, the food was prepared in a way that was safe for him.

Besides fast food, Donald reportedly likes steaks, well done, with ketchup. In 2016, his former butler Tony Senecal, who died in 2020, told the Palm Beach Post that Trump told him not to add any “garbage” to his dish. That meant no relishes, garnishes, or vegetables.

Melania Trump ‘ganging up’ with RFK Jr. to improve Donald Trump’s diet, source says

Whether Donald will continue his fast-food consumption during his second tenure at the White House remains to be seen. However, it appears that if Melania gets to decide, that won’t happen. According to a PageSix source, Melania is set to campaign to improve her husband’s diet. And who does she have to potentially help? None other than Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who could be Trump’s pick for health secretary.

“RFK Jr. and Melania are ‘ganging up’ on the President-elect to eat in a more heathy way. Think fewer Big Macs and less KFC, and more lean protein, salad and veggies for energy and to improve his overall well-being,” the source said.

Moreover, the source said that Melania has even been cooking herself, trying to “encourage” her husband to make healthier choices.

“Melania famously watches every bite she takes… She has also guided their son’s eating habits since he was a toddler. Mar-a-Lago members say they spot her heading to the spa, to work out and have regular skin care and hair treatments,” the source added.

But at the same time, another Trump source told PageSix: “Nonsense! Trump eats whatever he wants.”
