The world continues to mourn after yet another tragic US school shooting, which left six people in Nashville dead, including three children.
In times like this, parents across the country are left with shock and heartbreak, imagining if something like this happened in their own communities or to their kids.
But the Nashville shooting hit especially close to home for one actress and mom, who revealed that she helped students fleeing from the attack.
Melissa Joan Hart is best known for her starring roles in the sitcoms Clarissa Explains it All and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The actress, 46, lives in Nashville and revealed in an emotional Instagram post that the shooting occurred near her home.
She says that her own kids attend a neighboring school and were not in school that day, but while she and her husband were on their way to the school for conferences, they saw children fleeing from The Covenant School.
“We helped a class of kindergartners across a busy highway,” an emotional Hart says through tears. “They were climbing out of the woods. They were trying to escape the shooter situation at their school.”
“So we helped all these tiny little kids cross the road and get to their teachers… We helped a mom reunite with her children.”
Hart says that this is actually her family’s second close encounter with a deadly school shooting: they previously lived in Connecticut, near Newtown where the Sandy Hook elementary school massacre took place.
“I don’t just don’t know what to say anymore,” the actress says. “Enough is enough. And just pray. Prayer for the families.”
“Prayers today, Action tomorrow,” she added in the caption.
Thank you to Melissa Joan Hart for helping these kids and speaking up after this tragedy. Please share this story and keep the victims of this shooting in your thoughts and prayers ?❤️
