New mom Lindsay Lohan reveals the heartwarming gift ‘Freaky Friday’ co-star Jamie Lee Curtis sent her baby

For a generation of movie fans, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan will always be remembered as an iconic on-screen mother-daughter duo thanks to the 2003 film Freaky Friday.

Twenty years after the film’s release, the actresses still keep in touch — and when Lohan became a mom for the first time last month, Curtis was sure to congratulate her and give her some mom-to-mom advice.

Recently, Lohan revealed the sweet gift Curtis sent her for the baby.

Freaky Friday — a comedy about a mother and daughter who magically swap bodies — brought the two actresses together. Lohan was a 16-year-old who had just broken through with The Parent Trap a few years earlier, and Curtis was newly sober and joined the film at the last minute as a replacement for another actress, according to a New York Times interview.

The two actresses quickly bonded on set: “Jamie showed up with such an infectious personality that set the tone for the whole day,” Lohan told the Times. “She immediately took me under her wing. I was so nervous to do my first kiss on camera, so she talked to me in my trailer and made it funny so that I wouldn’t stress about it.”

Their chemistry is evident on screen, and helped Freaky Friday become a hit. The two kept in touch over the years, using a memorable bonding moment on set — eating french fries and trying to learn the lyrics to Justin Timberlake’s “Like I Love You.”

“We were like sitting there with a pad… We were writing them down and then we would do the scene and then we’d play the song and try to lip-sync the few words that we knew,” Curtis told Yahoo! Entertainment. “I’m telling you, we laughed. And that is my secret code with her. ‘What was the song we were lip-syncing to in the car?’”

Lohan continued to rise to fame thanks to films like Mean Girls, but her career was also hurt by substance abuse and legal issues, which often publicized by the tabloids. However, she has since turned her life around and made a Hollywood comeback, and Curtis expressed pride in her friend and on-screen daughter.

“She is a great talent. And she’s had a lot on her plate at a very young age,” the Oscar-winner told People last year. “It seems like she is settling into a really happy domestic life.”

Lindsay Lohan’s baby

Lohan, now 37, married husband Bader Shammas last year, and last month welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Luai. After the news broke, Curtis congratulated her on social media.

“My movie daughter just made me a movie grandmother,” Curtis wrote on Instagram. “Blessings to Lindsay and Bader for the birth of Luai!”

Recently, Lohan revealed the sweet gift Curtis sent her for the new baby: a number of children’s books, including several written by the Halloween star herself.

“Thank you @jamieleecurtis,” Lohan wrote in an Instagram story.

Ahead of the baby’s arrival, Lohan revealed that her on-screen mom gave her some valuable parenting advice.

“She was like, ‘You just bring the baby with you and everything will be fine,’” Lohan told Allure.

It’s heartwarming to see that Curtis and Lohan are still friends decades later — and the two are slated to reunite in an upcoming Freaky Friday sequel.

Congrats to Lindsay Lohan on her new baby! We love to see that Jamie Lee Curtis sent such an adorable gift!
