Portia de Rossi had just one wish for her birthday: renew her wedding vows with Ellen DeGeneres.
On the actresses’ 50th birthday she decided to turn the tables and surprise her wife by turning her birthday celebration into a vow renewal ceremony.
DeGeneres shared a small clip on Instagram from the January 31st party and directed fans to watch the entire bit on her YouTube page.

In the video de Rossi, dressed in her 2008 wedding gown, walks into a room full of the couple’s family and friends while Brandi Carlisle sings Roberta Flack’s “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.”
She makes her way through the crowd to her visibly stunned wife.
“Oh my god,” is all DeGeneres can say as Kris Jenner walks up to the couple. The former talk show host tosses her keys on a table and takes her place in front of everyone.
The ceremony begins as Jenner says de Rossi “would like us to witness a renewal of her commitment to Ellen to honor and celebrate their marriage of 14 years.”

“You don’t have to say anything at all,” de Rossi told DeGeneres, “But when I was thinking about what would make my birthday really special, apart from being with family and friends, it was reminding you that you’re the most important thing in the world to me.”
“I just adore you. I love you, and I would not be on this Earth without you,” DeGeneres replied. “You save me every day thank you for saving me every day, and I’m the lucky one.”
