Melanie married Antonio Banderas in 1996. The two had met while filming the comedy film Two Much in 1995. Antonio Banderas instantly felt an attraction to Melanie Griffith when working together. He thought she was funny, generous, sweet, and beautiful, and after Two Much, the two stayed in touch.
After they tied the knot, the couple welcomed a daughter the same year; Stella Banderas. She was named after her mother’s acting teacher Stella Adler.
Born on September 24, 1996, in Marbella, Spain, Stella grew up in Spain and USA. Just like her famous dad, Stella is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Antonia Banderas and Melanie Griffith were together for 18 years before applying for divorce in 2014. In hindsight, Stella has talked fondly about her upbringing – she has also praised her mother for her upbringing methods.
“She wasn’t the typical mother growing up. We had a very open relationship where no topic was really off limits. This allowed me to build immense trust with her which in turn gave me the freedom to express myself without fear of judgment,” Stella told Vogue.

Even though it was a difficult time when her parents separated, Stella has maintained a healthy relationship with both parents. She’s often seen together with her dad on the red carpet, for example.
In 2018, Stella started studying at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, just following the same path as many other family members. But unlike her big sister Dakota, mom and dad, she has only been in movies as a child actor.
With so many great actors in the family, people thought that her career could only go in one direction. But it looks like Stella might want to do something completely different and not follow in her family’s footsteps. She has done some modeling, and in 2020, she graced the cover of Glamour Spain.
