Stallone made the announcement during the premiere of his family’s reality show.

The 77-year-old and his family were sitting down for dinner when he broke the news.

“After long, hard consideration, your mother and I have decided, time to move on and leave the state of California permanently,” he told his daughters Scarlet, 21, Sistine, 25, and Sophia, 27. “And, we’re going to Florida.”

“It’s an empty nest,” his wife Jennifer added. “I need to change it up.”

The decision came after the two became empty nesters when Sistine and Sophia moved to New York City, and Scarlet moved to Florida for college.

“I raised all three of our daughters in California,” Jennifer said in a confessional. “Everything’s a memory to me, memories of them not being there anymore. So, I needed a big change and Sly went along with it.”

Some family members were not too happy with the change, including Sylvester, who said even though they had “a lot of roots in California,” he “gave in” because his wife had her heart set on moving.

The Stallone’s daughter Scarlet also expressed her displeasure, telling her mother she wanted to raise her children in the house where she grew up.

“I actually wanted to take over this house after you guys to raise my family,” she said.

Despite the hesitation, Sylvester is willing to give Florida a try.
