Baby with unique hair is winning the internet – but wait till you see her mom

Every family has some trademark traits that are passed on from one generation to the next.

You may inherit your grandfather’s nose, your grandmother’s sense of style, or your dad’s eye color.

But others are blessed with some slightly more unusual traits.

Brianna and her daughter are united by a special feature, which is also a proud family tradition. As the result of a birthmark, at least four generations of women in their family have had a white streak in their hair.

Brianna Worthy lives in South Carolina and recently had a daughter named Millianna.

Brianna didn’t not know for sure, but she had a hunch that her daughter would carry on a special family tradition.

At first glance, it might look like something done at the hairdresser—but the fact is, the white streak in her hair is genetic.

MilliAnna, who is now 18 months old, has unique hair.

Most of her hair is dark brown—except for a streak of pure white hair above her forehead.

MilliAnna has had her “hairstyle” ever since she was born.

The distinctive feature is called poliosis, which means that some of a person’s hair and skin around it lacks pigment.

Often it’s just a white spot, but in some cases, it accompanies the skin disease vitiligo.

MilliAnna is in good company.

The white streak in her hair is a family trait that goes back several generations back from mother to daughter.

Besides MilliAnna and Brianna’s mother, Jennifer, and grandmother, Jaonne, also have a white stripe in their hair.

The family knows with certainty that the birthmark stretches back at least four generations, but it might go even further back in time.

Jaonne, Brianna’s grandmother, was adopted as a little girl.

She doesn’t know if her biological mother or grandmother also had the gene.

Brianna admits that sometimes she was bullied and called a skunk when she was a child, but she’s still glad that her daughter has the same white hair.

The birthmark skipped over Brianna’s younger sister, so everyone in the family was happy when they saw Brianna’s daughter.

And it seems that people are taking her daughter’s white curls in a good way.

“The majority of the time I welcome the polite comments and don’t mind answering the many questions, but honestly, it can be overwhelming at times. When I’m in a rush and just trying to do what I need and keep going,” the mother told the Daily Mail
