Céline Dion’s sister breaks silence after terrifying reports emerge about legendary singer’s health

Céline Dion‘s sister has moved to deny reports suggesting that the singer will never perform for fans again, according to sources.

The iconic songstress has been locked in a health battle after being diagnosed with Stiff-person syndrome, forcing her to cancel all upcoming shows in 2023 and 2024.

News of Dion’s troubling diagnosis came last year, and since then a number of worrying reports have implied that her condition continues to worsen. As recently as earlier this week was it claimed that there are growing fears that the superstar might call time on her career as she’s struggling to find medications and treatments that can effectively combat her illness.

There were also rumors that Dion’s legendary voice has been affected to the point where she might not be able to perform again even if she felt up to it.

However, in a new interview with French-Canadian outlet 7 Jours, Dion’s sister Claudette moved to clarify matters, branding such negative reports as false.

“Céline is doing the best she can,” Claudette said. “We know that her disease is particularly difficult to treat, but she is surrounded by a large team of specialists and she works hard. I trust this team. My little sister has a steely spirit, and she is doing well.”

She added: “Those who claim that my sister’s voice has disappeared are wron. She sang some notes to me on the phone and her voice is still there. I was so happy and reassured to hear it.

“She has confidence, as I do, in her ability to overcome this ordeal.”

Stiff-person Syndrome is characterized by the Cleveland Clinic as “a rare autoimmune movement disorder that affects the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord). People with this condition first experience a stiffening of the muscles of their trunk followed, over time, by the development of stiffness and rigidity in the legs and other muscles in the body.”

Dion has kept herself well away from the spotlight since her diagnosis was made public, and many of her fans are naturally concerned given that she hasn’t been photographed in almost 600 days.

Speaking to the National Enquirer, one source stated that the star is suffering from “unbearable” spasms.

“Celine hasn’t been photographed in public in almost 600 days — and with good reason,” the source said.

“She has trouble walking and is at the mercy of loud noises that trigger spasms, which make her susceptible to failing. Her back has become hunched and her muscle spasms are, at times, unbearable.”

Moreover, the source alleged that Dion’s condition is getting worse, not better, and her sister Linda recently moved into her home to help.

Earlier this month, Claudette confirmed that her sister is working closely with specialized researchers of Stiff-person syndrome.

“We can’t find any medicine that works, but having hope is important,” Claudette revealed, per SheMazing. She emphasized that Céline needed rest, given that she tends to go above and beyond during performances, always striving for excellence.

She added: “At one point, your heart and your body are trying to tell you something. It’s important to listen to it.”
