I’m sure we’ve all found ourselves in a situation where we can’t quite believe our eyes when we get the bill after eating at a restaurant.
For me, this mostly happens when I’ve ordered altogether too much food and drink without properly looking at the prices first.
Yet I’ve never seen anything quite like the couple who read their bill to find a $15 dollar “a**hole” charge after they’d finished their meal.
In a post on Reddit, the couple in question explained the situation they’d found themselves in, concluding with a hilarious twist when they got to the bottom of what the crude text actually meant.
On their post, the user uploaded a picture of the bill they had been given. At first glance it looks like a normal enough receipt, but scanning down the list you’ll see the sixth and final item on the bill reads only “You’re an Asshole”, along with a charge of $15.
Naturally, I think the sight of that would be enough to give most of us pause for thought, but as the Reddit user clarified in their post, it was simply a – quite frankly funny – misunderstanding.
“My wife and I went to a restaurant for her birthday and we both had cocktails,” the user said.
“I completely forgot the name of the cocktail by the time the receipt came but its name was ‘You’re an a**hole, Mr. Burton.’”
The drink reportedly consists of gin, port, lime juice, honey, peach bitters and egg white with brown sugar drizzle.
The restaurant in question is in Oregon, with other Redditors having found a number of different items on their menu with equally funny names.
“The Caesar salad is named ‘et tu brute?’ I love it,” one added.
“They also list ‘(bearded) clams’ on their menu, so this place seems to have a healthy bit of humor!” a second put in.
Also on the menu are “friend chicken tits”, so there’s that as well!
