Dad takes daughter out for dinner but a note from strangers brings everything to a halt

The single dad, Imgur user , sure has his priorities straight. He has always made sure to provide for his 6-year-old daughter over the years, treats her with love and compassion, and teaches her everything he knows.

When Valentine’s Day came around, the dad decided to take his little princess out for a very special date. The dad made sure to put everything aside to make his daughter feel loved on this very special night. He could have gone out with his current girlfriend, but knew just how much the date night would mean to his daughter.

The two happily headed for The Old Spaghetti Factory to enjoy some time quality time together over a nice meal. But little did the father know that that particular night would end with him in tears.

As the two sat enjoying each other’s company through laughs and giggles, they didn’t realize that two diners sitting nearby were watching and listening to them intently.

Some moments later, things took an unexpected turn. Their waitress approached their table — and slipped dad a note.

The surprised father opened it — and his surprise just grew as he carefully read every line.

“Hi there! Sorry to spy but my husband and I saw you out with your little date and were so impressed with what a great dad you are,” the note said.

“From two adults who grew up without dads, it’s so important to have a male role model at a young age. Keep up the good work, Dad! Dinner is on us!”

Moved to Tears

Upon reading the heartfelt note from complete strangers, the dad couldn’t help but tear up.

“I wish I could thank them,” he later wrote on Imgur, next to a photo of the note. “I wont lie, I teared up at the table. So, thank you random strangers. Thank you.”

I can only applaud this dad who is clearly doing his best to give his daughter the best chance at her future!

I’m so happy these strangers expressed their emotion and gratitude to such a well-deserving father — their gesture brought tears to my eyes. Share if you agree we need more great dads like this out there!
