The Horn dance school was established 111 years ago and continues to be one of the most popular dance establishments in Europe. Combining the teaching of new, fresh-faced, would-be dancers with intense courses for those who wish to take it more seriously, they have a lot to offer. Suffice to say they boast plenty of talented dancers in their ranks.
In amongst this mass of ability stand Dietmar and Nellia, who have been married since 1970 and dancing professional for more than 30 years. They’ve won a multitude of competitions across the years, including Austrian and German national championships. Their go-to style? 1940’s and 1950’s.
It was one particular routine at a gala event at the Horn dance school, however, which propelled them to viral fame.
It was to “Down the Road Apiece” by Johan Blohm & The Refreshments that Dietmar and Nellia swung their hips and wowed the audience. The crowd – the vast majority of whom were younger than them – could do little but watch in amazement as this incredible couple confirmed that age really is just a number.
