Hoda Kotb isn’t afraid to admit her mother buys all of her daughters’ clothes: ‘She’s so good’

Shopping for clothes for a four-year-old and a six-year-old girl can be fun, but shopping with them is another story.

So if someone offers to do the shopping for you, why even consider saying no?

On a recent episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, Kotb’s co-host, Jenna Bush-Hager commented on Kotb’s outfit, noting her mother, Sameha, tends to pick out the fourth hour’s host’s clothes.

“By the way, and every outfit for my kids,” Kotb shamelessly admitted.

The 59-year-old mother of two said her own mother was always asking what size her daughters, Hope Catherine, 4, and Haley Joy, 6, were so she could purchase them new clothes.

“She’s so good,” Kotb said. “Now that it’s time for school clothes, I’m like, ‘Mom, can you do what you do?’ But she really loves it. But I love that my mom’s doing that.”

Kotb previously revealed her mother picks out the outfits she wears on Today.

“The dresses in my dressing room, she finds them in a store, puts them in a box and sends them to my apartment in New York. I take the box to work without opening it. I hand it to the wardrobe people. They ask, ‘Have you tried it on?’ No! I don’t need to,” she wrote for Today.com in 2016.

“She knows my body type and she knows what works. How many people have their mom sending them dresses that they don’t even ever have to try on?! She has impeccable, crazy taste. Unlike her daughter — me!”

Now Sameha gets to dress her granddaughters.

“She knows y’all better than anybody, so she knows what looks good on you,” Bush Hager said.

“I used to hate going clothes shopping with my mom. She’d want to stay in the dressing room for hours and try on a million things, I couldn’t bare it, but now I’m so grateful,” Kotb remembered.

For Kotb, those days are over. She simply has to wait for a package from her mother and slip into whatever her mother sent because she knows it’ll be a perfect fit.
