Months on from an alarming health scare that had fans seriously worried for her future, images of Madonna have once again sparked concern.
According to reports, the 65-year-old is gearing up for her world tour – which, you may remember, had to be rescheduled after the singer was hospitalized with a bacterial infection in June – but her ever-changing look is prompting unease among her supporters.
In new videos uploaded to Instagram, Madonna looked virtually unrecognizable, with certain fans describing her look as “painful”.
Now, it must be said that Madonna’s appearance has a track-record of evolving over the many years that she’s been a fixture in the mainstream spotlight.
Having burst onto the scene decades ago, the Like a Virgin star has done an incredible job of remaining relevant in an industry that is notoriously fickle.
That said, her adaptions and alterations have perhaps never been scrutinized as much as they are today, with many of the Queen of Pop’s supporters concerned about how she now looks.
After the star appeared in a video wherein she appeared unquestionably fuller of face, people took to the comments section to let her know their unfiltered thoughts.
“Jesus what happened to her,” one person wrote.
“People need to stop injecting their faces,” another said.
A third added: “She’s got the wrong doctor giving her filler in the wrong places – all that money and she can’t get it right.”
“Wouldn’t of known it was her,” a fourth said.
“Amazing how different some women really look like without make up,” quipped a fifth.

As previously touched upon, it’s been an up-and-down year for Madonna, not at all helped by the serious bacterial infection that some sources speculated was life-threatening.
The 65-year-old was forced to reschedule her ‘Celebration’ world tour, while it can be assumed she’s undertaken a significant amount of rehabilitation following her release from hospital.
“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children,” the superstar said at the time.
“My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone. My focus is now my health and getting stronger and I can assure you, I’ll be back with you as soon as I can!”
