Man’s father is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s – he records this moving video as a tribute to him

For those who have had the heartbreaking experience of dealing with a loved one who had Alzheimer’s, you know how impossible life can get.

Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia; a progressive disease that affects a person’s memory and their ability to live an independent life.

More than 5 million people in the U.S. have the disease and every 66 seconds someone is diagnosed with it.

For one man, he knew what lay ahead when his father was diagnosed with this awful disease, so he decided to make a video to help his father remember all the good times.

More than 6 million people have watched this video and thousands of people, who are going through the same heartache, have commented on it. It has touched the hearts of so many.

The son set a series of cherished memories with his father to Kenny Chesney’s “While He Still Knows Who I Am” and it’s moving millions of people around the world.

The video shows the son driving back home to see his father, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

He gets emotional as he sings along to the song and there are beautiful scenes of him with his mom and dad.

Underneath his video, he posted on YouTube, he wrote: “In November 2011, my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. From that day forward, I was determined he would not forget me … or I him”

He went on to say that the song, recorded by country music star Chesney in 2012, was exactly where he was in life and a fitting tribute.

“A tribute to all who are living with and dealing with Alzheimer’s disease,” he added.
