Pink stops concert and hands microphone to a 12-year-old girl, marvels at her voice when she starts to sing

For many of us, the idea of being noticed by our favourite sportsman, actor or singer while they’re in the process of entertaining millions is but a forlorn dream.

For 12-year-old Victoria Anthony, however, it was a dream that was actually realised. In 2018, the young girl was attending Pink’s concert in Vancouver, Canada.

Halfway through the Rogers Arena concert, Pink invited Victoria up onto the stage in a gesture that she’ll likely never forget. Even Pink was to be surprised, though, when she heard the girl singing.

There are amazing child vocalists out there, and I’m sure you’ve heard a few. I myself have seen little powerhouses belt out everything from a capella numbers that brought tears to my eyes showstoppers in front of big bands. And when you close your eyes and just listen, a lot of these singers are as powerful as any adult.

Prior to Pink’s show during her Beautiful Trauma World Tour in 2018, Victoria Anthony had ran a social media campaign in the hope of garnering the star’s attention. News outlets subsequently picked up on the pleas, and Anthony became something of a viral hit.

As per CTV News, on the night, Pink called out to the audience for the 12-year-old and asked: “Are you who I read about on the news? Do you want to come sing something?”

According to reports, Anthony credits her mom for the idea to run the campaign. She’d posted videos of herself singing Pink songs on social media.

Once Anthony’s up on stage, she breaks into a rendition of Pink’s ‘Perfect’. Both the artist and the audience are greatly impressed, with Pink stating afterward that she wouldn’t be singing that song herself for fear of being upstaged.

Whether you’re a Pink fan or not, it’s not difficult to see why she’s getting a lot of positive attention after doing this. Did you like the gesture? If so then share this article to brighten up the days of your friends and family as well!
