Simon Cowell leaps up for standing ovation: “That was in a different league”

Brian Justin Crum took the audience, the judges, millions of TV viewers, and the entirety of the internet by storm when he appeared on America’s Got Talent” three years ago.

Brian, who had been seriously bullied as a child, delivered a stunning rendition of Queen’s classic “Somebody to Love” in his first audition – taking a fitting revenge on all the people who had ever picked on or doubted him.

Ultimately, he placed fourth in the competition, despite the fact notoriously harsh judge Simon Cowell was of the opinion he should have placed higher.

The latter point is important, because it’s the reason Simon gave Brian another shot in “America’s Got Talent: The Champions”, a show pitting the very best against the very best. Suffice to say, Brian took his opportunity with both hands …

If you didn’t already know, “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” sees former successful contestants facing off against each other. It’s mostly comprised of winners and runners-up, giving the very best talents from “America’s Got Talent” the chance to show they’re truly supreme.

In the season’s fourth episode, Brian Justin Crum was handed the opportunity to make a comeback. Just as he did three years ago, he would go on to steal the breath from all those who watched him.

Singing Elton John’s “Your Song”, Brian showcased his incredible vocal range. To say the judges were left in awe is a relative understatement.

“In a different league”

Simon Cowell even offered Brian a standing ovation, paying tribute to the magnitude of his performance.

“This is where you should be,” Simon said. “You should be singing those kind of songs. You have an absolutely amazing voice … amazing voice! This was in a different league to anything you’ve done before. I’m very proud of you.”

Not so surprisingly, Brian was voted into the finals to be held in a few weeks time.
